Maureen Batty

Maureen Tisdale Batty is an award-winning editor and writer who chose to trade in her two-decade newspaper career for freelance editing and writing. From her first promotion at The Orlando Sentinel through her final newspaper job as an assistant features editor at The Detroit News, as well as in her independent work on books and other writing/editing projects, Maureen has used her storytelling skills and editing ability to create, guide and edit clear, concise, educational and entertaining works about spirituality, personal growth, parenting, relationships and more for print and digital publications.

With RTC, Maureen says, she found a place to tie her skills and joy at bringing out the best in a piece of writing with her ultimate passion: people’s no-holds-barred personal stories. Those journeys that made them who they are today and help them stretch toward who they will be tomorrow – and how those paths help them impact and empower others along the way – is where the goose bumps can be found, she says. Maureen is a bit of a goose bump chaser.

Maureen is from a big family – she’s the oldest of seven children – and lives in Michigan with her husband and their wonderful, rambunctious little boy.
