Bridget Morton

I am a devoted wife, mother and teacher.

As a person full of compassion for people, I always knew that I wanted to work in either health care or education. However, it was my love of words… reading words, writing words, speaking words that threw me head first into the world of high school English at North Buncombe High School. Being blessed to receive the North Carolina Teaching Fellows scholarship in 2004, I became the first college graduate within my family, earning my B.A. in Literature and a 9-12 Teaching Licensure from UNC-Asheville, as well as an M.A. in English Education from Western Carolina University.

Despite the joy that sharing my passion for learning with students brings me each day, my truest pleasure lies in the time I spend with my family. My high school sweetheart, now my husband of seven years, and I share two beautiful, lively children: our four-year-old son Canon and our eight-month-old daughter Tessa. We spend our time enjoying the outdoors with hiking, gardening and four-wheeling adventures.

And at the end of each day, after students have been taught, family has been enjoyed, and the house has been cleaned, quiet time with God brings me the peace needed to begin the next day energized and motivated to continue bringing positive change to our world!
